Bishkek, June 14, 2019. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov proposed the creation of a body of the Shanghai Organization for Combating Economic Crimes. This initiative was voiced by the Kyrgyz leader during the enlarged meeting of the SCO Summit in Bishkek.
He said that economic crimes, as a rule, are transnational.
"They are closely connected with drug trafficking, smuggling, laundering of proceeds from crime. Ultimately, they pose a threat to the security of states. The Kyrgyz side proposes the creation of an SCO body to combat economic crimes," the President said.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov also noted that in modern conditions the threats emanating from the Internet space are real threats to the security of states.
"Increasingly, there are cases when unverified, and often deliberately false information is replicated and forms a negative background. The threats of using IT technologies for criminal, terrorist and military-political purposes are increasing. In this regard, we believe that ensuring information security should be an important item on the agenda of the SCO," added the President of Kyrgyzstan.
In addition, he stressed the importance of interaction in the field of digitalization and information and communication technologies, as well as the construction of a system of interregional cooperation.
"A number of SCO member states have a lot of experience in this field," he added.
