Bishkek, June 14, 2019. /Kabar/. The Kyrgyz-Indian Business Forum is very important for the Indian side, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi said at the Kyrgyz-Indian Business Forum.
He said that Kyrgyzstan and India have century-old cultural and economic ties.
"We have unlimited possibilities for expanding this historical partnership in line with the challenges of time. President Jeenbekov and I would like to see the expansion of Kyrgyz-Indian relations in various areas. India and Kyrgyzstan plan to strengthen relations in attracting investment and trade," Modi said.
In his opinion, the global economy is undergoing great changes. "In such a situation, the economic growth and technologies of the country like India are key to security. Our country is a huge market. Our young, talented people, enthusiasts and innovators will play an important role in achievement our goal to become a five trillion dollar economy," he said.
Modi also noted that the relationship between Kyrgyzstan and India is far below potential. "Therefore, I think that this Business Forum was organized at the most appropriate time. There are three important catalysts to increase the level of investment: enabling environment, connectivity and business community meetings," Modi said.
In addition, the Prime Minister of India noted that organic products from Kyrgyzstan have a good reputation in the Indian market. "Mountain honey, nuts and milk products are famous for their ecological purity and natural processing. The two countries have good opportunities in medicine, textiles, hydropower, mining and tourism," Modi added.
Kyrgyz-Indian Business Forum is held in Bishkek as part of the official visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kyrgyzstan.
