Osh’s leadership, UNDP representative discuss social projects

Osh, June 19, 2019 /Kabar/. Governor of Osh Oblast Uzarbek Zhylkybaev and First Deputy Mayor of Osh Saibjan Turduyev met with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Representative in Kyrgyzstan Louise Chamberlain.
During the meeting the sides discussed interaction in various spheres within the framework of the UNDP projects.
Saibjan Turduyev in his welcoming speech noted the importance of a number of joint projects implemented by the UNDP in Osh, including the "Sulayman Mountain - a symbol of peace and harmony" annual festival, a number of infrastructure projects, the activities of UNDP to support entrepreneurs, as well as the holding of this year's International Tourism Forum in Osh.
Besides, the first deputy mayor expressed an initiative to strengthen joint cooperation in the reconstruction of the water supply and sewerage system of a number of city districts, as well as to create jobs in the processing industry in support of agricultural producers.
Ms. Louise Chamberlain expressed readiness to consider the proposed projects and also noted the importance of the UNDP activity in the implementation of projects on peace-building, development of micro-communities' infrastructure and linguistic diversity.
The UNDP is the United Nations’ global development network. It advocates for change and connects countries to knowledge, experience and resources. It provides expert advice, training and grants support to developing countries, with increasing emphasis on assistance to the least developed countries, and also promotes technical and investment cooperation among nations.
