AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered the National Bank to introduce a ban on providing loans to citizens with salaries below minimum wage, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports.
The ban is aimed at further prevention of deterioration of financial situation of Kazakhstanis.
A minimum wage in Kazakhstan this year stood at 29,698 tenge ($78).
The National Bank is tasked to take measures on toughening responsibility of financial organizations in introdution of a ban on loan providing to the low-income population.
The head of state earlier ordered the government to reduce debt load of Kazakhstanis, who fell into a difficult life situations.
The write off debts and loans in the amount of less than 3 million tenge will be a one-time support of the government.
