Kyrgyzstan expects influx of about 2 mln tourists this year

Bishkek, June 27, 2019. /Kabar/. The Department of Tourism predicts the arrival of 2 million tourists in 2019, Kiyal Kenjematova, the Deputy Director of Department told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
According to her data, 1 million 400 thousand tourists were registered on results 2018. "This year we will try to increase their number to 2 million tourists. For this purpose, we have prepared a corresponding action plan. This year's nomadic games will be held in Talas, as well as the Oimo Festival in Naryn," Kenjematova said.
Every year the boarding houses pass certificate, during which all the competent authorities check them for readiness for the tourist season, for the availability of sanitary conditions, as well as the condition.
"As of today, there are 339 resort and health-improving complexes in Kyrgyzstan, 309 of which are functioning. Issyk-Kul is ready for the tourist season and has 169 resorts in operation," Kenjematova said.
Besides, Kiyal Kenjematova told about tourist passport, which introduction has been already completed.
"Every foreign tourist entering our country will receive a tourist passport absolutely free of charge," the deputy director said.
The tourist passport looks like a card with QR code, due to which a tourist can get all the information about any part of Kyrgyzstan and tourist objects through his mobile phone.
"A tourist passport is necessary to ensure the safety of tourists. It will provide information about the facilities and services used by tourist, and also allow analyzing on this data," Kenjematova added.
