Low tariffs for public transport fare bring losses - Bishkek Transport Company

AKIPRESS.COM - Low fare tariffs led to 14 million som losses for Bishkek Passenger Road and Transport Enterprise, Chief of the company Nurlan Koichubakov said today at a Bishkek City Council meeting. He stressed the need to increase tariffs of public transport fare.
According to him, 113 public buses were registered in Bishkek in 2017, while in 2018 - 104.
"The major material loss is due to the low tariffs," he noted.
More and more money is spent for maintenance of vehicles each year, according to him.
A launch of electronic tickets is needed for transparency of work of public transport, Koichubakov noted.
