Osh, July 4, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Osh Oblast exports mutton to Iran and wool to China. This became known during the visit of Governor of Osh Oblast Uzarbek Zhylkybayev to Kara-Suu region of Osh.
The state sheep farm in Kara-Suu region has 4 thousand sheep. This year the farm plans to increase exports of mutton to Iran compared to last year, as in 2018 Kyrgyzstan was unable to fully meet the demand for meat from Iran.
Besides, the wool of the new Kyrgyz breed of sheep of merino is in huge demand. Thus, last year wool of this breed was exported to China at the price of KGS 230 (USD 3,3) per 1 kg, and wool is also bought by a local wool processing plant in Nookat town.
A new garment enterprise in Osh plans to buy in full the wool of this breed of sheep at the price of KGS 300 (USD 4,3) per 1 kg.
