Bishkek, July 4, 2019. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov during his working visit to Batken Oblast on July 4, familiarized with the project on the construction of an industrial zone in Batken.
The head of state was informed about the construction of the industrial zone and its facilities by Mayor of Batken Mamyrzhan Rakhimov, the President’s press service reported.
He said that after transformation of a land plot of 176.5 hectares from agricultural land to land intended for industry, transport, communications, defense, etc. it is planned to build 18 enterprises, such as industrial trade and logistics center, a sports and fitness complex, a flour mill, a plant for the production of building materials, a shoe factory, a factory for the processing of wool and leather, waste processing plant, oil plant, car assembling plant, mining plant, power stations, etc. As a result, about 1,200 people will be provided with jobs.
The mayor also said that, several large enterprises in the industrial zone is planned to be built until 2020.
He also added that with the help of public associations, an apartment house for low-income families, is being built in the city.
The head of state noted that when implementing such projects, it is necessary to focus on the construction of export-oriented enterprises. Particular attention should be paid to all necessary communications and infrastructure construction.
Jeenbekov wished success to the residents and leadership of the city in their efforts to develop the city and surrounding areas, stressing that the state is taking all the necessary measures and assisting in the promotion of regional projects.
