President Jeenbekov to pay official visit to Switzerland

Bishkek, July 8, 2019. /Kabar/. "President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov on July 9-11 at the initiative of President of Switzerland Ueli Maurer will pay an official visit to the Swiss Confederation," Daniyar Sydykov, the head of the foreign policy department of the President’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic said.
He noted that as part of his official visit Jeenbekov will meet President Maurer, President of the National Council of the Swiss Federal Assembly Marina Carobbio Guscetti and Chairman of the Swiss National Bank Thomas Jordan.
"Discussion of promotion of bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland, with a focus on trade, economic and banking sectors, attracting investment in promising sectors of the Kyrgyz economy, developing cooperation in the banking sector, as well as building parliamentary democracy are planned," Daniyar Sydykov said.
He noted that documents in the spheres of economy, finance, tourism, drinking water supply of the country's regions, etc. expected to be signed.
Besides, Sooronbay Jeenbekov will hold meeting with representatives of big Swiss businesses, where businessmen from Kyrgyzstan to take part also.
"A business dialogue will help identify and establish priority areas for Kyrgyz-Swiss trade and economic cooperation, with an emphasis on increasing exports of Kyrgyz goods and products to Switzerland, as well as attract the relevant Swiss experience to Kyrgyzstan," Sydykov said.
It is expected that the visit will give an additional impetus to the existing high level of political dialogue in bilateral relations and practical implementation of cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
