Winners of All-Ukrainian drawing contest visit Kyrgyz National Library

Bishkek, July 10, 2019 /Kabar/. Winners of the "Through the pages of Chyngyz Aitmatov's Books" all-Ukrainian children's drawing contest, as well as Director General of the National Library of Ukraine for Children Gordienco and its librarian Polikarpova visited the National Library of Kyrgyz Republic named after Alykul Osmonov in Bishkek, the press service of the Kyrgyz Library reported.
The drawing contest was held in Ukraine in late 2018. It was organized by the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Ukraine together with the Ukrainian National Library with the support of the Ukrainian Culture Ministry and was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of outstanding Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov.
Director of the Kyrgyz National Library Jyldyz Bakashova conducted a sightseeing tour around the halls and cultural centers of the library. The guests were shown various photographs of Aitmatov's childhood, youth, parents and relatives, as well as his works translated into many languages.
Director Gordienco presented to Kyrgyz Library a book-album, which includes drawings created as part of the all-Ukrainian drawing competition. The winners were awarded certificates of travel to Kyrgyzstan, diplomas, valuable prizes and gifts. Financial support for the contest, awards and book publishing was provided by the Kyrgyz Embassy in Ukraine.
At the end of the meeting Director Bakashova thanked for a valuable gift and wished children creative success, good health, and also gave each guest a bibliographic encyclopedia of Chyngyz Aitmatov, published by the National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Chyngyz Aitmatov was a Soviet and Kyrgyz author who wrote in both Russian and Kyrgyz. He is one of the best known figures in Kyrgyzstan's literature.
