President Tokayev, Minister of Ecology discuss establishment of new Environmental Code

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the meeting with Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Magzum Mirzagaliyev was informed about the current activities of the Ministry including development of a new Environmental Code, Akorda press service said. Mirzagaliyev told about measures on development of geology, rational use of water resources, protection of forests and the wildlife.
The head of state ordered to resolve solid waste management problems. Landfills should correspond to environmental and sanitary requirements, he noted.
Tokayev also tasked the Ministry to increase the environmental consciousness of the population.
