AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin upon arrival in Dushanbe on his official visit met with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the press service of the PM said.
They discussed bilateral economic ties at the meeting.
Mamin said that Kazakhstan appreciates Rahmon's participation in the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting as an honorable guest.
The Prime Minister then held a meeting with his Tajik counterpart Kokhir Rasulzoda. They vowed to increase bilateral trade. In 2018, the Kazakh-Tajik trade increased by 8.2% amounting to $900 million, according to the report.
Rasulzoda said that Kazakhstan is the second partner of Tajikistan on trade turnover.
The two countries plan to boost trade up to $2 billion in the coming 3-4 years.
