AKIPRESS.COM - Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in Jan-Apr reached $284 million growing by 12.7% year on year, Prime Minister Muhamedkaliy Abilgaziyev said on July 13 at the 8th session of Kyrgyz-Kazakh intergovernmental council in Bishkek.
Exports amounted to $95 million (+6.1%), imports - $188.6 million (+5.7%), the prime minister said.
Kazakhstan is one of the key trade partners of Kyrgyzstan, he said. Kazakhstan accounts for 11.2% of Kyrgyzstan's total foreign trade turnover and 14% of Kyrgyzstan's exports.
All the points of the protocol of the 7th meeting of the intergovernmental council, including the veterinary cooperation issues, have been executed, PM said.
Kyrgyzstan has big possibilities for the production and export of eco-friendly produce and is ready to create favorable conditions for mutual delivery of industrial and technical products, raw materials, consumer goods, foodstuffs, chemical products, equipment.
Kyrgyzstan is also interested in creation of joint enterprises for the export of agricultural and animal goods abroad.
Kazakh PM Askar Mamin said that the Kazakh side is ready to work on boosting trade turnover, to continue close relations with Kyrgyzstan, including on border cooperation.
