AKIPRESS.COM - Angren and New Angren combined heat and power plants in Tashkent region of Uzbekistan will be handed in trust to the Gornye Raboty company of Kazakhstan for 3 years, Chairman of the board of directors of the Thermal Power Plants JSC Ruslan Mubarakshin told a press conference in Tashkent. According to him, the CHPPs are handed over to a private company for the first time in the history of Uzbekistan.
The two sides today are working on documentation, which envisages a maximum reduction of using natural gas and increasing coal firing at these plants.
Mubarakshin said that the Kazakh company is a co-owner of the large coal reserves of Kazakhstan, which triggered the discussion of coal supply issues to Uzbekistan on concessionary terms to prevent a rise of tariffs and cost price for electricity.
