AKIPRESS.COM - President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga proposed the Parliament Chairman to make amendments to the Constitution of the country, Mongolnow reports. In his proposal, Battulga wants to increase a number of Parliament members up to 108 (againt current 76 MPs) and prolong their office terms until 5 years (4 years now). The head of state also offered to prohibit the political parties to own a real estate. Therefore, the building of the Mongolian people's party and a building of the opposition party that is under construction now might be handed over to the government in case of approval of the draft law on amendments to the Constitution, the report says.
Thus, the President's proposal will be first considered by the parliament group and the parliament committees.
Battulga personally has voiced his proposals during the parliament session on July 16.
