AKIPRESS.COM - Former member of the Kyrgyz Parliament Muzaffar Isakov was released under home arrest, local activist Anarbai Orozov reported.
According to him, the decision was taken on July 15 by the Suzak district court.
The press service of the Jalal-Abad regional court confirmed that the parliamentarian was released under home arrest. The details it promised to report later.
The Suzak district court earlier found Isakov guilty and handed down 7 years in prison with a 3-year probation period.
On March 31, 2018, the investigation department of the National Security Committee brought corruption charges against Isakov.
The probe against Isakov was launched on February 13, 2018.
During his tenure as Tash-Bulak rural municipality governor, Isakov issued 315 unlawful resolutions allowing construction of private houses on 14,34 ha of agricultural land during 2010-2015, the National Security Committee said.
Several citizens testified Isakov reportedly sold those land plots.
