President and PM of Mongolia to chair working group on amending Constitution

AKIPRESS.COM - The committee of the Mongolian Parliament on constitutional sysytem on July 17 approved creation of a working group on amending the Constitution of Mongolia, MongolNow reported. The working group will be headed by President Khaltmaagiin Battulga and Prime Minister Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh.
The proposal to make amendments to the Constitution was introduced by Battulga and 62 members of the Parliament.
During the session on July 18, the issues of creation of a working group and the terms of preparation of the draft law were on the agenda. 79.2% of the parliamentarians voted for approval of the decisions.
The Parliament of Mongolia will be working with public until August 9 to inform about the new draft law.
Battulga offered to increase a number of parliamentarians up to 108 (against current 76) and prolong their term of office until 5 years (against current 4 years). Among other proposals of the President is a constitutional ban on ownership of real estate by political parties.
