Bishkek, July 23, 2019. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Andrey Shirokov, the Managing Director of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) Project Block.
The sides discussed the implementation of joint social and economic projects and promising areas of cooperation, aimed at development, the press service of the Kyrgyz leader reported.
Jeenbekov expressed confidence that the implementation of the Additional Agreement on the project of rehabilitation of the Toktogul hydroelectric power station and investment and energy projects will increase the volume of energy capacity in the country.
The President also expressed hope that the grant from the EFSD for the Health Caravan project will serve as a significant support to the rural population in the preventive examination.
The EFSD managing director expressed his gratitude for the support of the Fund's activities. He informed about the beginning of works on realization of projects in the spheres of irrigation networks and increase of clean drinking water supply in the regions of the republic.
Shirokov also noted that the implementation of projects in the spheres of energy, transport, healthcare and agriculture will be continued. Close cooperation with the country’s public authorities is carried out in all the above-mentioned directions.
Jeenbekov and Shirokov exchanged views on the implementation of infrastructure projects for the construction and modernization of roads in the country's regions.
The sides expressed their joint interest and readiness for further fruitful cooperation.
The EFSD (the former EURASEC Anti-crisis Fund) is an international financial institution, established by Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russia and Tajikistan with the goals to assist its member states in overcoming the consequences of global financial crisis, to ensure their long-run economic stability and to foster economic integration of EFSD member-countries.
