Bishkek, July 25, 2019. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov held a working meeting on measures to ensure border security, including issues at the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border in Batken Oblast.
The President emphasized that ensuring border security, developing border cooperation with neighboring countries, creating the most comfortable conditions for safe living for residents of the border regions of the country remains one of the main priorities of the state policy.
"Addressing these issues is a complex task, in which all branches of government, executive structures and local governments should participate. At the same time, there is need to strengthen preventive measures and explanatory work among the local population," Jeenbekov stressed.
He drew attention to the need to improve the infrastructural condition and to solve social and economic issues, border villages and regions.
Heads of the State Border Service, the State Committee for National Security, the Ministry of Transport and Roads, the Health Ministry, the State Agency for Architecture, Construction and Housing and Communal Services provided the information on the situation in the section of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border and measures taken to improve infrastructure in border villages.
The meeting was attended by Parliament Speaker Dastanbek Dzhumabekov, Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Rayimberdi Duishenbiev, Prosecutor General Otkurbek Dzhamshitov, heads of relevant ministries and departments of the country.
