AKIPRESS.COM - "The situation in Batken region is under my personal control," President Sooronbai Jeenbekov said at the meeting with residents of Batken region in Ak-Sai village today. The President met Ak-Sai villagers on his way to Isfara, Tajikistan, where he will hold talks with President Rahmon.
The President reminded the respective tasks were given to law enforcement agencies, armed forces, heads of line ministries and agencies.
"The situation has stabilized now thanks to the actions undertaken together with Tajik authorities. Additional forces of interior troops and the State Border Service were dispatched to the border in Batken region. As you see, this work was carried out promptly after our past meetings. The border patrols will be always since now on. The border will be fully under our control," Sooronbai Jeenbekov emphasized.
The President said the number of servicemen and law enforcers in the border villages was increased.
"Your security and interests of our state have been put forefront. Now, we are working on all border issues. I, the government members are holding talks with the leadership of Tajikistan. Yesterday, I held a meeting on the border. The decision has been made to start construction of social and infrastructure facilities in the nearest time," President Jeenbekov stated.
The President emphasized construction of buildings of fire and rescue services will be finished in August. Two special vehicles will be provided. New ambulance car will be dispatched to the region.
The destroyed bridge in Ak-Sai village will be repaired. Construction of a new pump station will begin to supply people with potable water. The efforts will be made to provide irrigation water. Construction of new schools will begin in some villages, according to the President.
"Social issues will be resolved. The most important, I urge you not to yield to provocations. Work together with law enforcement agencies. The Kyrgyz people were famous of their generosity and hospitality since ancient times. We should try to maintain and strengthen good relations with the neighboring state. Conflicts will do only harm. Let's be patient and restraint. We will resolve all issues. Time is needed for that. We should keep peace and calmness for the sake of future of our children, future of our country," President Jeenbekov said and thanked the attendees of the meeting for their understanding of the situation.
The President listened to locals, who shared their problems.
President Jeenbekov then headed to Isfara, Tajikistan for a meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
