Bishkek, July 26, 2019. /Kabar/. Yesterday, July 25, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution entitled "Cooperation between the United Nations and the Collective Security Treaty Organization", the elaboration of which was conducted under the leadership of the Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN as part of the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan in the CSTO.
Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Nations Mirgul Moldoisayeva, presenting the draft resolution and speaking on behalf of all CSTO member states, noted that one of the fundamental principles of foreign policy common to all CSTO member states is the recognition of the central role, played by the UN in the modern system of international relations, pointing out that the UN and the CSTO cooperate effectively on a wide range of issues through regular exchange of information, organization of visits, participation in conferences and training events.
She also noted that the agenda of cooperation between the Organizations is diverse and relevant for the solution of its tasks, and the level of mutual understanding achieved ensures the effectiveness of interaction, which makes it possible to consider it a benchmark for the relations between the CSTO and international organizations.
