Jeenbekov and Rahmon continue talks in Issyk-Kul

Bishkek, July 27, 2019. /Kabar/. Negotiations between Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon continued in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul Oblast.
Jeenbekov warmly welcomed Emomali Rahmon on the shore of Issyk-Kul, the pearl of Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Kyrgyz President said.
"Your visit will give additional impetus to the intensification of mutually beneficial cooperation. We are satisfied with yesterday's negotiations, which took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and trust," Jeenbekov said, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality, extended to the entire Kyrgyz delegation during his working visit to Tajikistan’s Isfara.
"I am sincerely pleased with the agreements reached to activate the entire range of bilateral cooperation issues. We have shown unity of opinion on accelerating the process of delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. We also exchanged views on regional and international issues, including water and energy issues in the region, in which Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan play an important role. In this context, Kyrgyzstan highly appreciates and supports Tajikistan's creative policy of drawing the attention of the international community to the problems of water use at the global level," President Jeenbekov said.
He noted that thanks to the support of Emomali Rahmon, a historic meeting was held at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border area.
The Tajik President expressed gratitude for the invitation to visit Kyrgyzstan.
"I'm very pleased to meet you on the hospitable Kyrgyz land. It provides us with an opportunity to continue our constructive dialogue on topical issues on the Kyrgyz-Tajik agenda. We are interested in the stable development of close cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and attach great importance to the consistent strengthening of good-neighborly relations between our countries. Tajikistan once again confirms its readiness to further strengthen the political dialogue, deepen trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations with the Kyrgyz Republic," Rahmon stressed.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov paid a short-term working visit to Isfara, Tajikistan, on July 26, at the invitation of Emomali Rahmon. At the meeting of the two heads of state the most pressing issues of bilateral cooperation, including the demarcation and delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border were discussed.
