Kyrgyzstan to mark Komuz Day on September 9

AKIPRESS.COM - The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov signed a decree on establishment of the Komuz Day on September 9.
"The preservation of the national culture is one of the important tasks of state bodies and civil society at the times of rapid expansion of modern technology. National culture creates conditions for the further consolidation of society and strengthening the unity of the people of Kyrgyzstan.
The traditional music as an integral part of the spiritual culture of the Kyrgyz people can not be imagined without komuz. Komuz has a special place in the traditional culture of Kyrgyz people. The komuz melodies is fraught with philosophic ideas, lifestyle and culture, passed from generation to generation to this day.
It is necessary to give the Komuz a new meaning, it should become a symbol of the unity of the cultural diversity of the Kyrgyz people. The cultural integration of the people of Kyrgyzstan will become the basis for peace, harmony in society and the socio-economic development of the country.
It is necessary to strengthen the role of traditional music to expand the intercultural dialogue of ethnic communities of Kyrgyzstan," the statement said.
The Government of Kyrgyzstan was recommended to establish September 9 as Komuz Day in Kyrgyzstan and to instruct to Culture Ministry of Kyrgyzstan in cooperation with the governments in the regions, head of local state administrations and local government bodies to take measures on organization of events dedicated to Komuz day.
The decree comes into force from the date of official publication.
