Meeting of leaders of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan give impetus to border talks – Jeenbekov’s press secretary

AKIPRESS.COM - The intergovernmental working group for Kyrgyz-Tajik state border delimitation and demarcation is working and will continue its work further, President's press secretary Tolgonai Stamalieva told AKIpress when asked to comment on the talks held between Presidents Jeenbekov and Rahmon. Experts noted progress in talks at the level of the working group at the beginning of July, she said.
"Both sides expressed the intention to accelerate the process. We can say the latest meeting of the leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan gave impetus to the talks and opened a new page. The Presidents demonstrated political will, readiness to address border issues. Political positions were voiced," Stamalieva stated.
The both sides invited each other to make official visits. So, the top-level talks on cooperation between two countries and border delimitation talks are coming, she added.
The meetings of the Presidents in Isfara and Cholpon-Ata will give impetus to addressing border issues, the press secretary concluded.
