Scientists of Uzbekistan make cane with ultrasound sensor for blind people

AKIPRESS.COM - The young scientists in Uzbekistan, Bunyod Zaripov and Ulmas Zoirov, have developed the innovative cane for people with visual and hearing impairments, Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan said. The presentation of the product was held on July 29 in Tashkent.
The cane radiates electromagnetic waves and with their help receives information about obstacles within a radius of two meters. The ultrasonic sensor is able to recognize barriers and pits at an angle of 30 degrees. The cane signals about any barriers or pits in form of a beep or vibration.
The innovative cane will allow people with visual impairments to socialize, will ease use of public transport for them.
The sample was handed over to the Blind People Society.
The scientists intend to arrange mass production of the cane with support of the Innovative Developments Realization Center.
More than 66,000 blind people are registered in Uzbekistan. 41,000 of them are registered with the Blind People Societies.
