Field Day held in Osh for farmers

Osh, Aug. 1, 2019. / Kabar /. An international scientific and practical seminar "Field Day" was held on Wednesday with the participation of farmers of Osh Oblast.
The main purpose of the event was the creation of a business platform for acquaintance with new varieties and hybrids of soy, corn and sunflower of Russian selection, including technologies for their cultivation in the conditions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as establishing partnerships with research and production institutions of Russia.
In addition, an exposition of agricultural materials and available agricultural machinery was exhibited on the field site. This is the first event of this kind for farmers in the city of Osh and Osh Oblast, where more than 300 farmers took part. Over 50 agricultural organizations of Osh and about 10 research and production institutions of Russia demonstrated their achievements and developments.
The event was attended by a delegation from the Russian Federation including representatives of the Association of Seed Producers of Russia, the All-Russian Research Institute of Oilseeds named after Postovoit, as well as other scientific and industrial enterprises of Russia.
The first deputy akim of Kara-Suu region of Osh Oblast Adiev noted that this event is of great importance for the development of the agricultural sector of the region and will become an impetus for its stable growth in the coming years.
"Field Day is a significant agrarian event where agrarians from all over the regions gathered to see the results of a study conducted at the state variety testing site, establish contacts with seed producers and exchange experiences," said Mamedov, head of the department of agrarian development of Kara-Suu region.
The event is held with the financial and organizational support of the United Nations Development Program Integrated Area-Based Development of Osh Oblast, funded by the Russian Federation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
