The 4th Annual Kyrgyz-American bilateral consultations were held in Bishkek under the chairmanship of Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Azizbek Madmarov, and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the United States to discuss in detail the most pressing issues on the bilateral agenda.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, consultations were held with the participation of a wide range of state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic, which voiced specific proposals for further development of bilateral cooperation.
Thus, the sides considered a rich agenda in the following dimensions: political, economic, humanitarian and security.
Important agreements were reached on continuing joint work on the return of illegally exported assets to the Kyrgyz Republic. The American side expressed its readiness to support the efforts of the Kyrgyz side to create an educational hub in the country.
The sides discussed issues of bilateral consular cooperation. The American side is invited to consider the possibility of concluding an agreement on obtaining long-term (ten-year) visas of various categories, the importance of facilitating the conditions for obtaining non-immigrant US visas by Kyrgyz citizens.
The American side expressed its readiness to reduce visa fees for applying for student visas to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The final agreements and proposals voiced by the parties will form the basis for the areas of cooperation in the near future.
