Bishkek, Aug.1, 2019 /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Abdulla Aripov, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, who has arrived in Bishkek for a working visit.
The press service of the President reported, the sides discussed prospects for further development of bilateral interaction, including issues of border, energy, interregional and inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted that the deepening of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation is always considered a priority in the foreign policy of the country.
He stressed all relevant issues should be resolved on mutually beneficial terms and expressed interest in developing not only bilateral, but also multilateral cooperation with Uzbekistan.
The President also noted with satisfaction the positive work of the sides on the delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border, stressing the importance of further deepening cooperation between the border regions of the two countries.
Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov conveyed the words of greetings from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and stressed that due to the efforts of the heads of state, bilateral relations between the two countries have reached a qualitatively new level, the positive dynamics of trade and economic relations has been outlined.
Abdulla Aripov noted all the issues, identified by the Presidents are being worked out at the government level, including the increase in the volume of trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan up to USD 1 billion.
He also congratulated the Kyrgyz President on the successful chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and noted the fruitful work of the leadership of Kyrgyzstan to ensure the social and economic development of the country, emphasizing the initiatives for regional development.
