Bishkek, Aug. 2, 2019. /Kabar/.The European Bank for Reconstruction (EBR) will allocate USD 21 million to Kyrgyzstan in 2021 to develop an effective government policy on the use of water resources, Director of the State Agency for Water Resources of the Kyrgyz Republic Kokumbek Tashtanaliev told.
He said that these funds will be allocated not only for the Water Resources Agency, but for all departments associated with the Agency to create a single information system for effective interaction. "Also, the funds will be used to develop state water policy and create a unified information system. In addition, the European Union will allocate USD 5 million to improve the interaction of the structures of the newly formed agency," Tashtanaliev said.
He said that the newly formed State Agency for Water Resources will develop a strategy for the efficient use of water resources and will also keep a balance and accounting report. "The Agency will develop solutions to the efficient use of water - this problem is acute due to the effects of global warming. The staff will be 5 thousand 98 employees, these are mainly employees of the Department of Water Resources and Land Reclamation under the Ministry of Agriculture, the Taza Suu project and reclamation workers of the Ministry of Emergencies in the regions," the director of the agency said.
