Situation on Kyrgyz-Tajik border stable, Kyrgyz Border Service says

AKIPRESS.COM - The situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border is stable. The State Border Service is functioning as normally, the Border Service spokesperson Gulmira Borubaev told AKIpress. The State Border Service said around 10-15 citizens of Tajikistan gathered in disputed border area on August 5 and began clearing the place.
"The sides do not have right to carry out any kinds of work prior to border delimitation. The Kyrgyz border guards demanded from citizens of Tajikistan to leave the area. They obeyed, but several dozens of Tajik villagers returned some time later with Tajik border guards. After the talks held between border guards and district governors, people dispersed," Borubaeva said.
All disagreements have been settled. The necessary explanations were provided to Tajik citizens, the spokesperson stated.
