3 killed, 7 wounded in wildfire fighting in Almaty region

AKIPRESS.COM - Three people died while extinguishing wildfire on the territory of Taldy rural area in Panfilov district of Almaty region, the Interior Ministry of Kazakhstan reported.
The fire occurred on August 5. Among those killed is an employee of the Zharkent forestry institution and two locals, who were fighting the wildfire. Seven others received injuries.
More than 13 units of special equipment and 59 employees of the department of emergency situation of the regional police department are involved in fighting the wildfire.
Volunteers are welcomed for helping in elimination of the flame.
Fire elimination became difficult due to the highlands and a helicopter was attracted for the work.
Now the fire fighting is underway.
The Ministry of Interior has expressed condolences to families of the wildfire victims.
