Massive storm in western Kazakhstan wounds residents, leads to power cut

AKIPRESS.COM - Five people sought medical aid after a heavy storm occurred in the city of Uralsk (northwestern Kazakhstan) on Monday, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported. "As wind started increasing from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on August 5, four emergency calls were received from citizens. A piece of roof in the village of Zhelaevo hit the head of an 8-year-old girl. She was delivered to the hospital in Uralsk," Moi Gorod portal reported with reference to the healthcare department of Western Kazakhstan region.
The wind has downed several trees in the city.
A 31-year-old man was affected by a storm, when a tree fell on his car. A 16-year-old girl was also taken to the hospital as a result.
Medical workers reported about the two women, who were injured during the wind.
The heavy storm resulted in power cuts in the city.
