Bishkek, Aug, 2019. /Kabar/. Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev held a meeting on the situation at the Solton-Sary gold ore deposit, located in Naryn Oblast.
The press service of the Government reported that the prime minister was informed by Minister of Internal Affairs Kashkar Dzhunushaliyev about the incident that took place near the Solton-Sary deposit, and the measures taken to ensure public order and security.
"Incidents between local residents and foreign workers should not cause the company to stop or shut down. I would like to emphasize that if an investor violates the requirements and rights of our citizens, we will take appropriate measures against him. But everything should be within the law. If people demand closure of enterprises because of every such incident, all investors will turn away from us. All disputes should be resolved in a legal framework," said Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev.
PM Abylgaziev said the revision of decisions on subsoil resources, which were taken by the previous authorities, is possible only through negotiations and an open and constructive dialogue.
"Any investor who starts his work is oriented to the continuity in the work of the Government, to the stable cooperation. The state should always protect the interests of both the local population and the investor. More recently, First Deputy Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov held a meeting with our citizens and representatives of the Chinese company. The mining company has been subjected to demands from the citizens, which it has undertaken to fulfill. A civil group was formed to monitor their implementation, consisting of residents of nearby villages. And everybody is interested in the fact that these requirements have been fulfilled in full and in high quality - the Government, local residents and investors, because it guarantees effective cooperation. The company has undertaken to pay compensation for the fallen cattle, to assist in the construction of roads and bridges, and to strengthen environmental protection measures. Everything should be solved through a constructive dialogue," Abylgaziev emphasized.
The prime minister drew attention to the need for closer interaction between investors and the local population.
Following the meeting, Mukhammadkalyi Abylgaziyev gave a number of instructions, related to ensuring public order and regulation of the situation on the spot, taking into account the interests of the local population and investors.
The conflict in Solton-Sary pasture took place on Aug. 5. A large group of residents of villages located near Solton-Sary, went to the office building of the Chinese company Zhong Ji Mining, developing a gold ore deposit. Having met, local residents and workers' companies began to throw stones at each other.
As a result, about 20 people hospitalized to local hospital.
Earlier local residents demanded to stop the activities of Zhong Ji Mining Company, as they said cattle die in the mountains due to explosive work.
