Members of voluntary people's patrol gather to ensure security of residents of Bishkek. One of the initiators of the movement, Chairman of the People's Patrol Union, the former deputy of the Parliament Daniyar Terbishaliev informed 24.kg news agency.
"We are a non-political organization, the decision to get together was made at night when we saw what was happening in Koi-Tash. We began to call friends and acquaintances. People began to gather at the Sports Palace at about 4.00 am," he said.
According to him, more than 700 people gathered.
"We gathered to help law enforcement agencies ensure security and stability in the city," Daniyar Terbishaliev said. "Everything can happen; the situation can change at any time. No matter how the events develop, our task is to prevent riots, to confront looters and crime."
