Talks with chief of Taliban diplomatic office held in Uzbek Foreign Ministry

AKIPRESS.COM - A meeting with representatives of the Taliban diplomatic office in Doha led by its chief Mullah Baradar Akhund was held on August 8 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan. The issues related to facilitation of the political process in Afghanistan with the purpose of bringing sustainable and long-term peace to the country were discussed at the meeting.
Mullah Baradar Akhund expressed gratitude to the leadership of Uzbekistan for attention to Afghanistan and stressed that the Afghan problem became in focus of the world community due to the efforts of Uzbekistan.
The head of the Taliban political office supported the suggestion to hold the next round of intra-Afghan dialogue in Samarkand.
The right of the people of Afghanistan to decide their fate and build their future on their own was emphasized during the talks.
