Bishkek, Aug.10, 2019. /Kabar/. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev met with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev, who has arrived in Kyrgyzstan to participate in the regular meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
Abylgaziev warmly welcomed Medvedev, noting the high level of strategic partnership between the two countries, the press service of the Government said.
"The Joint Statement, adopted by Presidents, defines specific directions for the development of multifaceted Kyrgyz-Russian relations. A large package of bilateral agreements and contracts in the trade, economic and investment sphere worth more than $6 billion, signed within the framework of the 8th Kyrgyz-Russian Inter-Regional Conference, are aimed at solving practical tasks of bilateral cooperation," Abylgasiev said.
The prime minister continued that in addition to this important visit for the country, the 21st meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation was successfully held this year.
"During President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Kyrgyzstan, heads of our states reached an agreement on declaring 2020 the cross year of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation and the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic. We very much hope that, taking into account the planned events, next year we will continue the existing dynamics of development of bilateral relations," Abylgaziev said.
Dmitry Medvedev expressed his gratitude for hospitality.
During the meeting, the heads of government noted with satisfaction that the Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation has reached a new qualitatively high level of partnership and allied relations.
The sides discussed issues of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation and other pressing issues of bilateral relations.
