AKIPRESS.COM - The Russian delegation led by Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Dmitry Kobylkin arrived in Kyrgyzstan on official visit, the press service of the State Environmental Protection and Forestry Agency reported.
This is the second official visit of Russian Ecology Minister Dmitry Kobylkin to Kyrgyzstan. The first visit was made in early September 2019.
Minister Dmitry Kobylkin visited the Kyrgyz-Russian Falcon Breeding Center Muras in Issyk-Kul region as part of his visit.
Dmitry Kobylkin thanked the Kyrgyz authorities for issuing permits for handover of falcons from the Kyrgyz-Russian Falcon Breeding Center Muras as gift to the King of Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince during the official visit of President Vladimir Putin to Middle East.
"We will establish the Kyrgyz-Russian international center for reproduction of endangered falcons in Russia drawing on experience and personnel of the Muras Center. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia together with administration of Kamchatka Kray chose the location of the prospective breeding center on the peninsula. Construction of the Kyrgyz-Russian Falcon Breeding Center has started already. This will be the biggest center containing all necessary infrastructure. The project was approved by President Vladimir Putin," Minister Kobylkin said.
"Similar breeding centers will be established in other regions of Russia. I am convinced a new area of cooperation in preservation and restoration of falcons will significantly strengthen our bilateral ties. I would like to underline we intend to further develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation in environmental protection in the spirit of friendship and good neighborhood," Minister Kobylkin added.
The Kyrgyz-Russian Falcon Breeding Center Muras lies in Sary-Bulun village, Tyup district of Issyk-Kul region. It was built in 2016. The center occupies 12 hectares area. It is home to 130 falcon pairs now, the State Environmental Protection and Forestry Agency of Kyrgyzstan said.
