AKIPRESS.COM - Surge in new coronavirus cases is observed in Kyrgyzstan, Health Ministry's representative Ainura Akmatova said.
Decline in incidence rate was observed since the end of August, she said.
"However, we see surge in COVID-19 cases in Batken, Jalal-Abad and Osh regions during the past 2-3 weeks. Various mass events are held, including weddings, Friday prayers, campaigning," she said.
Mobility of people declines on weekends, she noted.
"If we registered 91 new COVID-19 cases on September 18, then 55 cases were registered on September 21. Visits to healthcare centers and laboratories decline on weekends as well. This is why we report less new cases on Monday. However, during active days, especially on Thursdays and Fridays, we see spike in cases," ainura Akmatova stated.
