Military climbers of Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Uzbekistan conquer Lenin Peak

Bishkek, Aug.10, 2019. /Kabar/. A group of military climbers from the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan completed the ascent of Lenin Peak.
The climbers conquered the height of 7134 on Aug. 8, the press service of the General Staff of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces reported.
They took the route on July 23. In memory of the ascent, the athletes hoisted their national flags on the peak and placed a commemorative plaque.
All team members are professional climbers and have been trained accordingly.
The main purpose of the group climbing is to strengthen friendly relations, exchange technical methods of climbing, popularization and development of mountaineering in the armed forces of the CIS countries. The climbing was held within the framework of the decision of the CIS Council of Heads of State and was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
