AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh on August 12 ordered the ministers to take urgent measures on revoking a license of the South Gobi Coal Trans company for mining on the territory of the specially protected zone - the Tost and Tosonbumba Mountains in Gurvantes soum of Omnogovi (South Gobi) province, Mongolnow reports. "The issue of withdrawal of the mining machinery located on the territory of the zone should be urgently resolved. If you can not do this job, the relevant officials should resign," he said.
Residents of the Gurvantes province are demanding the government to protect the natural heritage.
Local media have repeatedly raised the issue of unlawful activities of the company on the territory of the specially protected zone.
