Population of Tokmok town reaches 64,534 people

AKIPRESS.COM - A pilot population and housing census was held on the territory of Chui district and Tokmok town from March 25 to April 3 according to the government's decree from Oct 23. 3 census departments were created in Tokmok town as of March 25. An agreement was concluded with the GIS (geoinformation system) to develop 2 copies of town plan with a scale of 1: 2000 and 1 copy of 1: 5000 scale, maps were created and transferred to the census departments of Tokmok.
1,500 street nameplates were produced and installed. The work in this direction is underway.
According to the National Statistics Committee, the population of Tokmok at the beginning of 2019 totaled 64,534 people.
In particular, 36,545 or 56.6% are Kyrgyz, 7,871 or 12.2% are Russian, 5,259 or 8.1% are Uzbek, 10.534 or 16.3% are Dungan, 1,203 or 1.8% are Uighurs and less than 1% other nationalities.
