Flooding in Almaty leaves several districts without electricity and gas

AKIPRESS.COM - Resquers for safety reasons shutdown electricity and gas in Almaty after mudflow hit the Kargaly dam in Almaty, Spunik Kazakhstan reports.
According to resquers, there is no threat to the residents.
However, electricity and gas were cut off for the safety. The emergency situations department for Almaty said evacuation of citizens living in nearby settlements is underway.
"We are warning about evacuation of the population. The resquers of the city of Almaty are carrying out explanatory works among the population living down the Kargalinka River in Auezov and Alatau districts," the statement says.
Chief of the emergency situations department for Almaty Serik Aubakirov headed to the site.
InformBureau reports mayor of the city Bakytzhan Sagintayev arrived in the site.
