President Tokayev outraged by deforestation in Burabay National Park

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered to take urgent measures in connection with the deforestation in the Burabay National Park, the President wrote on Twitter, Tengrinews.kz reported. According to the reports, employees of the Borovoe resort during rehabilitation of the highway cut off the trees growing along the road. According to the environmental police, a resident of Burabay district damaged more than 1 km of forest vegetation, which was revealed in the raids.
Illegal digging of a trench was registered on the territory of the state forest fund. During the excavation works, various kinds of trees were damaged. The length of the territory was 1,250 meters.
In this regard, Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan Magzum Mirzagaliyev promised to control the process of investigation on illegal deforestation in the resort.
