Jeenbekov: Manas Ayil may become cultural heritage of capital city

Bishkek, Aug. 16. 2019 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov got acquainted with the state of the cultural and ethnographic complex Manas Ayili in Bishkek.
When visiting the complex, the president expressed confidence that, with proper management and fundraising, Manas Ayilı could become a cultural property of the city of Bishkek, the Kyrgyz President’s press service reported.
Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism, Azamat Zhamankulov, said that local investors express interest in the cooperation on the restoration of Manas Ayili in a new format. He noted that reconstruction options will be studied in case of transfer of Manas Ayil to the balance of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the reconstruction of the complex, the president called for the active use of public-private partnership mechanisms. As he emphasized, there should be a place for recreation for residents and guests of the capital, as well as for visiting foreign tourists.
The construction of the complex was dedicated to the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of the Manas epic in 1995. Now the complex needs in reconstruction.
