AKIPRESS.COM - Employees of the emergency situations service of Kazakhstan continue extinguishing fire in the Karkaraly National Park in Karaganda region for the 5th day today, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports. Reports on fire appeared on August 12. The emergency situations department had reported that the flame spread to some 500 hectares of land. Today the reports said fire already occupied 3,700 hectares, including 1,900 hectares of forest.
About 370 people and 60 special machinery are mobilized. Three helicopters with water discharge devices are also involved in eliminating the fire.
Fire fighting is difficult due to the mountain mountaneous ground. The equipment can not reach the site and bringing water is not possible.
Soldiers, fire fighters and voluteers are working manually. Authorities hope the weather forecast about rain in this region will come true.
