About 9 thsd foreigners in Kyrgyzstan obtain work permits in 7 months of 2019

Bishkek, Aug.22, 2019. /Kabar/. In the first 7 months of 2019, about 9 thousand foreigners obtained work permits in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the State Migration Service under the Government reported.
In order to increase revenues to the state budget of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as to protect the national labor market from the inflow of low-skilled foreign labor, the Government of Kyrgyzstan established new rates of state duty for issuing work permits to foreign specialists.
In seven months of 2019, KGS 64.3 million was received by the republican budget for issuing permits, which is 1.8 times more than in the first seven months of 2018 (from KGS 35.8 million to 64.3 million).
During 7 months of 2019, 8757 foreign specialists received a work permit on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, which is 50.3% of the quota, approved by the Kyrgyz Government for 2019 - (total -17410-person), including 656 individual entrepreneurs.
The largest number of work permits in Kyrgyzstan were obtained by citizens of China - 76.6% or 6 thousand 711 persons, citizens of Turkey - 6.7% or 588 persons, citizens of Korea - 2.7% or 238 persons, citizens of Pakistan - 2.1% or 186 persons, citizens of the United States - 1.3% or 113 persons, citizens of India and Uzbekistan - 1.2% or 104 and 101 persons each.
