Bishkek, Aug.22, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov is holding meeting with residents of Ak-Talaa region as part of his two-day working trip to Naryn Oblast.
Jeenbekov noted the great potential of the region, which will be developed together with all regions of Kyrgyzstan, including remote mountainous areas, such as Ak-Talaa, his press service said.
The President told the Ak-Talaa residents about the activities that are being held as part of the development of regions across the country. These include the creation of favourable conditions for businesses in the local and rural areas, tax exemption or reduction, construction of new certification laboratories, activities of financial institutions to support rural entrepreneurs, preferential lending, development of production and export of environmentally friendly products, reforms in health care, education, sports, judicial and legal reform, and the fight against corruption.
He emphasized the work being done on the digitalization of the country and the conversion of public services into electronic format, as well as the activities in foreign policy.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov elaborated on the progress of national irrigation and clean water projects.
According to the State Irrigation Development Program, more than 65 thousand hectares of new irrigated lands will be developed by 2026, and water supply of 50 thousand hectares of land is expected to be improved.
Construction of strategic and internal roads of the country is continuing, construction and repair of at least 3 kilometers of roads in each district center has started, energy projects are being implemented, and hydroelectric power plants are undergoing reconstruction.
With regard to mortgage lending, the interest rate on state mortgages has been reduced from 14 per cent to 7 per cent per annum. 3,800 mortgages were issued at 8-10%. This year it is planned to allocate funds from the budget for mortgage lending in the amount of up to KGS 2 billion.
The President assured the people of Ak-Talaa that the strategic goals and tasks, aimed at the development of the country, will be implemented in the interests of the Kyrgyz people.
