AKIPRESS.COM - President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifa has invited the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to visit the UAE, The National reported.
The invitation was delivered by Dr Mohammed Al Jaber, the UAE's ambassador to Kazakhstan, during a meeting with the Kazakh Foreign Minister Beibut Atamkulov.
Dr Al Jaber also passed on Sheikh Khalifa's greetings and conveyed his congratulations on his election win this year.
Atamkulov, in turn, relayed the greetings of President Tokayev to the UAE President.
During the meeting, the sides discussed regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Dr Al Jaber also met with Murat Nurtleuov, Aide to the President of Kazakhstan on International Affairs, where they discussed means to expand ties between the two countries.
If the invitation is accepted, it will be Tokayev's first visit to the UAE since his election in March. The former Kazakhstan President, Nursultan Nazarbayv, visited the UAE in 2016.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, last visited Kazakhstan in 2011, where he met Nazarbayv.
