Group of activists detained before start of peaceful rally in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Some 15 activists щт Фгпгые 25 were detained by law enforcement officers for gathering for the peaceful rally in front of the Khan Shatyr entertainment center in the city of Nur-Sultan, Vlast.kz reports. They were preparing to start their humorous action making fun of pressing political and social issues.
Nine of them, including journalist from Vlast news agency Elizaveta Tsoi, were detained. They were driven to the police department and taken away their cell phones.
Earlier, the civil initiative on human rights protection Qaharman reported about holding of the general fun campaign, which was going to mock political and social issues and people were going to come to express their views on the situation in the country.
After an hour of interrogation, the detainees were released home, the report says.
