President Tokayev congratulates Kazakh athlete who swam over English Channel first in history of Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Athlete from Kazakhstan Anel Sydtykova became the first Kazakhstani, who managed to swim over the English Channel. She swam over the 8-km distance in 15 hours, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported. After reports, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated her on Twitter.
"The athlete Anel Sytdykova became the first ever representative of Kazakhstan, who could pass the English Channel. It is a great sample of an iron will, real mastery. Good job!" Tokayev wrote.
The 40-year-old woman several times failed to handle the task earlier. First she started trying in 2016, Moi Gorod outlet reports.
Only the third attempt of Sydtykova became successful in swimming over the English Channel.
